Aiboni’s Shell Appointment Puts Nigeria In Global Oil Management – Mayor Of Urhoboland

The Mayor of Urhobo Land and Head of the Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family Crown (AUMFC), His Worship Eshanekpe Israel Agimor, has congratulated Engr. Elohor Aiboni on her appointment as Executive Vice President and Country Chair of Shell’s operations in Nigeria, describing the development as a landmark moment for the country’s energy industry.

In a congratulatory message issued over the weekend, Mayor Agimor said Aiboni’s emergence as the first Nigerian to hold the combined position reflects the increasing recognition of Nigerian professionals in global energy leadership.

He described the appointment as a reward for years of dedication, technical expertise and visionary leadership, noting that Aiboni’s career journey represents a powerful example of how competence and perseverance can open doors to the highest levels of global corporate leadership.

“Engr. Elohor Aiboni’s appointment is a source of immense pride to the Urhobo nation, Delta State and Nigeria as a whole. It is a demonstration of what can be achieved when talent, discipline, integrity and opportunity come together,” Agimor stated.

The Mayor recalled Aiboni’s historic appointment in 2021 as the first female Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO), describing her latest elevation as another defining chapter in a career marked by excellence and groundbreaking achievements.

He noted that her professional background, including her training in Chemical Engineering at the University of Benin, postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management from the University of Bath, United Kingdom, and extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, had prepared her for the demands of her new responsibility.

According to Agimor, Aiboni’s achievement carries a wider significance beyond the corporate environment, particularly for young Nigerians and women seeking opportunities in science, engineering and leadership fields.
