APC national chairman endorses Oyebanji as best candidate for Ekiti guber poll

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State as the best candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Professor Yilwatda made the endorsement on Thursday during the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti Governorship election, scheduled for 20 June.

He expressed strong confidence that the ruling party possesses sufficient support to secure victory not only in Ekiti but also in the 2027 presidential election.

The APC chairman praised Governor Oyebanji’s developmental strides, particularly his efforts in infrastructure and unity.

“You’re linking roads and bringing people together all across the state,” he said. “We are happy to celebrate you, and I’m grateful to God for giving you to the people of Ekiti and to our party as well.”

Addressing party faithful and supporters, Professor Yilwatda formally presented the governor for a second term in office.

“Today, we are presenting you to the people of Ekiti for another term in office. As a group, we are really pleased and excited to have you with us,” he stated.

He further emphasised the governor’s strong standing among voters. “You are one of the top choices for this election; the people don’t really have a choice, because it looks like you are the only real candidate in this election.”

The National Chairman asserted the APC’s readiness and capability to triumph in any contest. “APC has the capability and is ready to win any election,” he declared.

Governor Oyebanji’s administration has been noted for its focus on infrastructure development, social welfare programmes, and efforts to foster unity across Ekiti State.

His re-election bid comes amid expectations of continued progress in the state, which has historically been a significant political battleground in Nigeria’s South-West region.

Party leaders believe that Oyebanji’s track record, combined with the APC’s organisational strength, positions the party favourably ahead of the June 20 poll.
