The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State for the 2027 election, Hon. Isa Ashiru, has expressed appreciation to party members for their support during the recently concluded party primaries.
Ashiru also commended the party leadership for conducting what he described as a transparent and democratic process across the 255 electoral wards in the state.
He said the affirmation of his emergence as the party’s gubernatorial candidate was aimed at clarifying his position as the duly elected winner of the exercise.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of the primaries reflects the readiness of the ADC in Kaduna State not only to offer effective governance but also to deepen democratic values.
Ashiru stated this in a statement issued on Wednesday, where he called on party stakeholders to remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“It is natural in every contest, including the just concluded ADC primaries, that some people win while others do not. However, that should not divide us. We must remain together as one family and work towards addressing the economic and security challenges facing Kaduna State,” he said.
He urged other aspirants to embrace sportsmanship and support efforts aimed at strengthening the party.
“It is on this note that I sincerely appeal to fellow aspirants to accept the outcome of the exercise in the interest of the people of Kaduna State,” he added.
Ashiru assured party members and supporters that his leadership would be inclusive, noting that such an approach would strengthen internal cohesion and position the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
He further stated that the ADC remains committed to addressing poverty, hunger and insecurity while restoring public confidence in democratic governance.
The gubernatorial candidate also called on Kaduna residents to support his campaign and join what he described as efforts to move the state in a new direction.
