Atiku: ‘I won’t be intimidated’ -Ex-SGF Babachir Lawal defends ‘Kachalla’ remark
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, says he would not be intimidated by online criticism over his ‘Kachalla’ remark on the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Lawal made his position known in a post on his official Facebook page late Saturday Saturday.
He maintained that the ‘Kachalla’ comments were made in the interest of national discourse.
Lawal reaffirmed his stance on political accountability and engagement, expressing frustration over what he described as coordinated online attacks against him.
Recall that while resigning from the ADC recently, Lawal likened Atiku to bandit kingpin ‘Kachalla’.
“I have come under heavy attacks, insults, and threats following my earlier comments, which were being taken out of context. I will not be intimidated by online criticism.
“Many of my critics focused on personal attacks rather than engaging with the substance of my arguments.
“Public office aspirants should be subject to scrutiny regarding their records, competence, and public statements, adding that such interrogation is part of democratic engagement,” he said.
