BREAKING: Abducted Major General Dies in Bandits’ Den After Weeks in Captivity

Retired Major General Abubakar Rabe, who was abducted by bandits in Katsina State exactly two weeks ago, has died while in captivity.
The senior military officer was kidnapped alongside his wife around the Matazu area of Katsina State while traveling to attend a wedding ceremony.
The Katsina State Government confirmed the development in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu.

According to the statement, the retired general died from complications arising from diabetes and hypertension.
“The deceased retired general died a natural death from complications of diabetes and hypertension,” the statement said.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased, characterizing the incident as a dark moment that highlights the ongoing need for intensified operations against criminal elements.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to collaborating with the Federal Government and security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice. He also assured residents that the administration remains resolute in its determination to eliminate banditry and protect lives and property across Katsina State.
