Congratulations have continued to pour in for the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Ogbuku, following his formal investiture as the Daufa VI and Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Among the first groups to celebrate the NDDC boss were the organisers of the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, popularly known as the Prosperity Cup, who described his emergence as a well-deserved recognition of years of dedicated service to his people and the wider Niger Delta region.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Deputy Director General of the tournament, Mr. Perela Aboro, and the Tournament Director, Mr. Ebi Avi, on behalf of the Central Organising Committee (COC), the organisers commended the people of Ayakoro for entrusting Ogbuku with the responsibility of leading the community.
The committee noted that the decision reflected the community’s appreciation of Ogbuku’s sacrifices, commitment, and contributions to the development and welfare of Ayakoro over the years.
According to the statement, Ogbuku has consistently distinguished himself as a custodian of traditional values and a champion of development, not only in Bayelsa State but also throughout the Niger Delta.
The organisers expressed confidence that his ascension to the throne would usher in a new era of peace, unity, dignity, and sustainable development in the community.
They also praised the NDDC chief for his support for sports development across the Niger Delta, citing initiatives such as the Niger Delta Games and the commission’s backing of the Prosperity Cup, which they said have helped position the region as a major sporting hub in Nigeria.

The organisers further prayed that his reign as Daufa VI would bring greater prosperity, peace, and progress to Ayakoro and its people.
Similarly, the Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli, extended his congratulations to Ogbuku, describing his ascension to the throne as a significant milestone for the community.
In a goodwill message, Ikuli hailed the NDDC boss as a leader destined to make a positive impact on society.
“A resounding congratulations to my elder brother, His Royal Highness Samuel Ogbuku Ph.D, on his selection and formal ascension to the throne of our fathers as the new Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community,” he said.
Ikuli added that Ogbuku’s record of service and leadership had demonstrated his commitment to transforming lives and communities, while praying for divine guidance, protection, and wisdom for the new monarch.
Also joining the growing list of well-wishers was the Bayelsa State chapter of the City Boy Movement, which described Ogbuku’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by the people of Ayakoro.
In a statement signed by the state director of the group, His Highness Barr. Osomkime Edwin Blankson, the movement described Ogbuku as a visionary leader, distinguished stakeholder, and worthy son of the community.
The group commended his contributions to public service, community development, and the advancement of the welfare of the people across the Niger Delta.
“The emergence of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as Paramount Ruler is a well-deserved honour. His leadership qualities, humility, and dedication to service have continued to inspire many across Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta,” the statement noted.
The City Boy Movement expressed confidence that Ogbuku would deploy his vast leadership experience to strengthen peace, unity, and development in Ayakoro while continuing to oversee the affairs of the NDDC.
The group also prayed for wisdom, strength, and a successful reign for the newly installed monarch.
Ogbuku’s investiture as Daufa VI has continued to attract commendations from stakeholders, political associates, community leaders, and well-wishers across the Niger Delta, many of whom regard his emergence as a landmark development in the history of Ayakoro Community and the Ogbia Kingdom.
