The Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Shuaibu Magaji Labaran, has said the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth, job creation and improved living standards across Nigeria.
Speaking with journalists in Lafia to mark Democracy Day, Labaran said the administration’s reforms are helping to stabilize the economy and strengthen governance structures at both federal and state levels. According to him, states are already benefiting from improved fiscal coordination, infrastructure development and increased support from the Federal Government.
Labaran acknowledged the economic challenges facing Nigerians but described key policy reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and foreign exchange market reforms, as necessary measures aimed at addressing long-standing structural issues. He said increased federal allocations have enabled states such as Nasarawa to invest more in critical sectors, including education, healthcare and infrastructure.
The Nasarawa SSG also highlighted youth empowerment, digital economy initiatives and entrepreneurship support programmes as part of efforts to promote inclusive growth, adding that women and rural communities are benefiting from targeted interventions. Commenting on recent political developments, Labaran described political realignments as a normal feature of democracy and said they reflect confidence in governance and democratic participation.
He urged Nigerians to remain actively involved in the democratic process through constructive engagement and accountability. Labaran expressed optimism that the Tinubu administration’s reforms would leave a lasting legacy by strengthening economic resilience, deepening democratic institutions and creating opportunities for future generations.
