Germany launched their Group E campaign with a dominant 7-1 victory over World Cup debutants Curaçao in Houston.
Felix Nmecha ignited the scoring in the sixth minute, curling a powerful effort into the net to record the tournament’s fastest goal to date. While Curaçao’s Livano Comenencia leveled the score 15 minutes later with a deflected strike, Germany quickly regained control.
After a tactical reset during a mid-half hydration break, Julian Nagelsmann’s squad surged ahead. Nico Schlotterbeck powered home a header from a Nathaniel Brown corner, and Kai Havertz converted a clinical penalty during first-half stoppage time after a foul on Nmecha.

Germany maintained their intensity after the break. Jamal Musiala struck just 69 seconds into the second half, followed by a spectacular volley from Brown.
Substitute Deniz Undav then dismantled the Curaçao defense, sweeping home the sixth goal before delivering an assist to Havertz, who tapped in his second and Germany’s seventh to seal the emphatic win.
Germany‘s next match is against Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) on June 20, 2026, at Toronto Stadium while Curaçao faces Ecuador on the same day June 20/21 at Kansas City Stadium.
