Nigerian gospel singer Kunle Kenny has sparked widespread reactions on social media after revealing that he plans to undergo a vasectomy after completing his family planning with his wife.
The singer made the statement in a post shared on X, where he emphasized that decisions about having children should be mutual and agreed upon by both partners.
According to him, he and his wife would only have children when they both agree the timing is right, stressing the importance of shared responsibility in family planning.
He further explained that he does not want his wife to undergo hormonal birth control methods due to concerns about potential side effects.
“Nobody is putting any birth control thing inside my wife’s body. No extraneous chemicals or pills. We will only have kids when we BOTH unanimously agree, as God allows in His mercy.”
He added:
“And when we’re done, I’m getting a vasectomy. A woman’s body is too sensitive for these chemicals. The side effects are crazy!”
His comments immediately triggered mixed reactions online, with many users debating issues around reproductive responsibility, medical choices in marriage, and gender roles in family planning.
Some social media users praised his stance as supportive and considerate, while others argued that medical decisions in marriage should remain balanced and jointly evaluated with professional guidance.
