Government Does Not Know Everything, Offer Suggestions Instead Of Just Criticising – Wike Tells Nigerians

• FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has urged Nigerians to complement criticism of government policies with practical suggestions and solutions.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on Nigerians to go beyond criticism and actively contribute ideas that can help improve governance and public policies.

Speaking during his monthly media briefing in Abuja on Monday, Wike said government officials are not all-knowing and rely on feedback from citizens to identify problems and develop better solutions.

According to the minister, Nigerians should make efforts to draw the government’s attention to issues they consider wrong while also suggesting practical ways to address them.

“You can call our attention. Make your own suggestions to the government. The government does not know everything. I’m human,” he said.

Wike stressed that governance works best when citizens participate constructively by highlighting challenges and proposing solutions rather than focusing solely on criticism.

He noted that government officials may not always be aware of every issue affecting citizens and therefore depend on public engagement to improve decision-making.

The former Rivers State governor further stated that responsible citizenship involves helping authorities identify areas that need improvement.

“It’s not by coming out to criticize and fault what the government is doing. Nobody has called my attention. What good citizens should do is to call the attention of the government,” he added.
