Hezbollah on Thursday denied the Israeli army’s claim that it had killed members of the group in an air strike on the southern Lebanese town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya.
The group said those killed were civilians and described the attack as a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire agreement.
In a statement, Hezbollah said the Israeli army had “once again deliberately targeted Lebanese civilians who were on their way to inspect their homes on the Zawtar al-Sharqiya road under the pretext that they posed a threat to its occupying forces.”
It added that the attack, carried out at 2:40 pm local time (11:40 GMT) by an Israeli drone strike, killed two civilians who were directly targeted and wounded a third person.
Hezbollah said the attack was a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire, which it said it remains committed to observing.
The group added that it had documented this as the third such violation.
Earlier on Thursday, the Israeli army said it had killed six Hezbollah members, including five in Zawtar al-Sharqiya and one in the Ali al-Taher ridge area in southern Lebanon, claiming they posed a “threat” to its forces.
