Hon. Adebisi Inspects Ongoing Secondary School Project In Ibadan South -West Constituency I

IBADAN – The Deputy Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly and member representing Ibadan South-West Constituency I, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, on Thursday conducted an unscheduled inspection on the ongoing construction of a six-classroom block project aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure in the constituency.

The project, approved by Governor Seyi Makinde through the Oyo State Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme, is expected to facilitate the establishment of the first public secondary school in Ibadan South-West Constituency I.

Speaking during the inspection, Adebisi expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, describing the project as a major step towards expanding access to quality education for children in the constituency.

According to him, the school project addresses a long-standing need of residents who have for years sought the establishment of a standard public secondary school within the constituency.

“This project is more than a block of classrooms; it is an investment in the future of our children. For years, our people have desired a standard secondary school within this constituency, and today that aspiration is gradually becoming a reality,” he said.

The lawmaker disclosed that arrangements were underway to ensure that the first set of students begins academic activities when the school opens in September 2026.

He noted that Governor Makinde had approved the establishment of the school and commended the administration for prioritising education and responding to the educational needs of residents.

Adebisi’s visit coincided with a gathering of community stakeholders, political leaders, youth representatives, market leaders and residents within the constituency.

Addressing the gathering, he assured constituents that more developmental projects would be attracted to the area, particularly in the sectors of education, healthcare, security, youth empowerment and infrastructure.

He urged political leaders and residents to remain united and support initiatives designed to foster development and improve the welfare of the people.

The lawmaker further pledged to continue engaging relevant government agencies and development partners to attract projects capable of enhancing the socio-economic development of the constituency.

Residents and stakeholders who witnessed the inspection commended Governor Makinde and Hon. Adebisi for facilitating the project, describing it as a significant development that would benefit generations of students and families in the area.
