Rev. Wanson Bagu, the Executive Secretary (ES) of the Plateau Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (PCPWB), has advised residents to keep faith in God in spite of the current security challenges confronting the State.
Bagu gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Jos.
The ES was reacting to the spate of attacks and wanton destruction of properties in some communities in the state.
Bagu, who decried the rising spate of kilings in the state, called on the residents, particularly Christians to be vigilant, prayerful and shun all forms of sin.
He particularly described the attacks in the state as dicey, noting that the criminals aimed at dominating and ruling without restrictions.
“I want to call on the Christians, especially those in communities under constant attacks to be vigilant and keep faith in God.
“If you die because of your faith, you die in Christ. Whatever it takes, do not loose your faith in the face of these attacks.
“It will be a colossal loss to lose everything here on earth and also lose in eternity. I want to encourage the youths to be vigilant in protecting themselves and their communities.
“This is an ideological war of a set of people not contention over land or material resource as is being peddled,”he said
The ES, however, called on the Federal Government and the security agencies to put stringent measures in place towards tackling the myriad of security challenges in the state.
He also appealed to religious and community leaders at all levels to support government efforts towards addressing the menace and ensuring a peaceful Plateau.(NAN)
