Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has declared that he is still one of President Bola Tinubu’s foot soldiers fighting crime in his state.
Naijaonpoint reports that Ododo spoke during a visit to the new 21st Battalion Barracks in Anyigba, Kogi East.
Governor Ododo emphasised that Tinubu cannot be in all 36 states of the country at the same time, fighting crime.
He also praised the military personnel for their hard work and commitment to keeping people and their homes safe, saying that deploying the battalion there has given local communities greater confidence and a sense of security.
He said, “I am here today to thank all the brave officers who are giving their time and effort every day to make sure that our people can sleep peacefully at night.
“Since you arrived, the security conditions in Kogi East have changed a lot. The places where criminal activities happen have been closed down, and we’ll keep looking for them until they can’t hide anymore.
“The president has kindly approved that air support will be available whenever it is needed.
“The President can’t be in every single state at the same time fighting criminals, so we act as his helpers on the ground.
“With this air support clearance, the chances of surviving as a criminal in Kogi have significantly decreased.”
