Iranian military source claims missiles penetrated US defences and hit majority of targets

An Iranian military source has claimed that Iran’s latest missile and drone operation against US military facilities in the region achieved a high success rate, with most designated targets struck despite the presence of American air defence systems.
In remarks carried by the semi-official Fars News Agency on Wednesday, the source said preliminary assessments based on satellite imagery and information gathered by Iranian security agencies indicated that the operation had achieved its objectives.
According to the source, Iran’s missile and drone forces successfully hit around 70 percent of their intended military targets.
“The missile and air forces were able to accurately hit 70 percent of the designated military targets,” the source said.
The official added that long-range ballistic missiles and drones launched by the Iranian armed forces were able to penetrate air defence systems deployed around US military facilities in the region.

The source claimed that Iranian projectiles struck targets at the Azraq air base in Jordan, Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and facilities associated with the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
The claims have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate confirmation from the United States or the governments of the countries mentioned.
Earlier on Wednesday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had targeted 21 American sites across the region in what it described as an initial response to recent US military actions against Iran.
In a separate statement, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said Iranian army and IRGC forces had carried out attacks on a number of US military installations in retaliation for what Tehran described as American aggression against targets in southern Iran.
The headquarters warned that any further US military action would trigger additional strikes against pre-selected targets across the region.
