Young leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and aspiring innovators gathered in Ibadan for the second edition of the JCI Oluyole Employability and Entrepreneurship Summit, where participants were encouraged to leverage technology as a tool for economic empowerment.
The summit, themed “From Uncertainty to Opportunity: Tech as a Tool for Economic Empowerment,” was organised by JCI Oluyole to expose young people to opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and economic development.
Delivering the keynote address, Chief Executive Officer of Cirvee Tech Academy, Nimi Adegbite, highlighted the growing influence of technology on careers, businesses, and economic growth.
He urged participants to embrace continuous learning, digital skills acquisition, and innovation to remain competitive in an evolving global economy.
The event featured fireside chat sessions on technology and entrepreneurship, during which industry experts and business leaders shared insights on opportunities in the digital economy, startup development, business sustainability, innovation, and strategies for navigating economic challenges.
Speaking at the summit, the 2026 President of JCI Oluyole, Ambassador Kolade Oyekunle, said the initiative was designed to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity by providing young people with practical tools, networks, and resources to advance their personal and professional development.
According to him, “The future belongs to those who are prepared to adapt, innovate, and create value.
Through this summit, we sought to inspire young people to see challenges as opportunities and to leverage technology and entrepreneurship as vehicles for economic empowerment.”
The summit attracted students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and members of youth-focused organisations, who actively participated in networking sessions, discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation.
JCI Oluyole expressed appreciation to speakers, panellists, partners, sponsors, volunteers, media representatives, and participants for their contributions to the success of the programme.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting leadership development, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and community impact through similar initiatives across Oyo State and beyond.
