Kano Governor Mourns As APC National Secretary Loses Mum

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the mother of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru.

The late Alhaja Sidikat Basiru died at the age of 92.

Governor Yusuf’s condolence message was conveyed in a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

He described the deceased as a devout Muslim, compassionate mother and exemplary matriarch whose life was marked by humility, unwavering submission to the will of Almighty Allah, and selfless sacrifice.

He noted that her commitment to raising her children with sound moral and religious values was evident in the distinguished public service and exemplary character of Senator Basiru and other members of her family.

According to the governor, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru lived an impactful life and left behind a legacy of faith, integrity and service that would continue to inspire generations.

Governor Yusuf extended his heartfelt condolences to Senator Basiru, the entire Basiru family, friends and associates over the loss.

He also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear what he described as the irreparable loss.

The governor further prayed that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, accepts her righteous deeds and grants her eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
