Marketers in Benue Call for Quick Evacuation of Mentally Unstable Woman After She Allegedly Undressed Herself in Market, Disturbs Traders
Benue State, Nigeria — Traders and marketers in a busy market in Benue State have appealed to relevant authorities to urgently evacuate a woman believed to be suffering from mental health challenges after she allegedly caused a disturbance by undressing herself in the market.
According to report and Trending Video, the incident occurred during peak business hours, drawing the attention of traders, customers, and passersby. The woman reportedly removed her clothes in public and moved around different sections of the market, creating panic and disrupting normal commercial activities.
Several traders said the situation attracted a large crowd, with many people stopping to observe the unusual scene. Some market women expressed concern for the woman’s welfare, stating that her behavior suggested she may be experiencing a severe mental health crisis.
A trader who witnessed the incident said efforts were made to calm the woman and prevent her from harming herself or others. However, her actions reportedly continued to cause anxiety among traders and visitors within the market premises.
Market leaders have since called on government agencies, healthcare authorities, and social welfare officials to intervene immediately. They urged relevant authorities to provide the woman with proper medical attention and psychological care rather than leaving her on the streets.
“We are appealing to the authorities to come to her aid. She needs help and treatment. Leaving her in this condition poses risks to her safety and that of people around the market,” one of the marketers said.
