Mr P Opens Up On Inspiration Behind Hit Single ‘I Can’t Look Away’

Nigerian singer and dancer Peter Okoye, ‘Mr P’, has revealed how he tapped into the formula that once powered the success of P-Square to create his latest track, ‘I Can’t Look Away’.
The song has continued to spark conversations among fans since its release. Mr P said he went back to the creative style that defined the P-Square era.
He explained this during a radio interview with Steve Onu, also known as ‘Yaw’. He added that he reunited with some of the key creatives behind several P-Square hits.
“I had to bring back everybody that worked with us as P’Square, like Foster Zeeno, who was the brains behind many of our hits as P’Square,” he said.
The singer said the move was aimed at delivering a strong project. He noted it is designed to connect with fans across different markets.
Mr P also revealed that he has signed a five-year deal with an international company. The agreement includes plans to release three albums.
“These people have invested so much in me, so I need to deliver,” he added.
The trending hit single has caught the attention of music star Davido, who described it as a “fire banger” on X.
‘I Can’t Look Away’ has been gaining steady popularity since its release. Fans say it brings back the classic sound that made P-Square one of Africa’s biggest music groups.
