Omo-Agege Accuses Governor Oborevwori of Spreading False Narratives, Declares Support for Peter Obi

Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has accused Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his supporters of spreading false narratives about him, alleging that they are concerned about his political influence ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, Omo-Agege said claims that he has lost political relevance were misleading, insisting that he remains a key player in Delta State politics. He alleged that supporters of the governor were behind efforts to undermine his reputation due to fear of his growing influence.

Omo-Agege also declared support for Peter Obi as his preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, stating that his political loyalty now aligns with his current party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). He said his political decisions are guided by party loyalty, noting that he previously supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while in the All Progressives Congress (APC). “Peter Obi is my presidential candidate for 2027. I have endorsed him. I am a political animal,” he said.

The former Deputy Senate President also insisted that he won his party’s primary election, dismissing contrary reports as false. He maintained that he remains confident in his political standing and expressed optimism about his party’s prospects in future elections.His comments come amid growing political tensions in Delta State as key actors position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
