Onyeme Assures NYSC Of Govt’s Support

ASABA – The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme PhD, has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of the state government’s support and commitment to addressing critical challenges facing the scheme.
He gave the assurance on Wednesday while receiving the Director of NYSC, Mr John Vandi T. Kwaghe, and his delegation during a visit to him at the Government House, Asaba.
Onyeme noted that every Nigerian who has passed through the NYSC scheme understands the challenges faced by corps members and the importance of creating a more conducive environment for them during their service year.
Deputy Governor said, “It is good that you have listed some of the challenges facing NYSC, especially in our state and we will work with relevant stakeholders to address the challenges.”
He commended the NYSC for its contributions to the development of Delta State, noting that corps members play significant roles across various sectors of the economy and communities.
He urged relevant civil servants to provide background information and recommendations where necessary to enable government take informed decisions on the issues raised by the Director.
Kwaghe expressed appreciation to the Delta State Government for the warm reception and pledged the continued cooperation of the NYSC with the state in advancing youth development and national service objectives.
He presented the need of NYSC to the state government.
The meeting was attended by senior government officials, including the Deputy Chief of Staff, Sir Christopher Osakwe.
