OPHK Troops rescue 10 abducted NECO candidates, teachers in Borno

Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) troops have recovered ten National Examinations Council (NECO) candidates and teachers who were seized by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during an attack on a secondary school in Borno State.

According to security sources, the incident began at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, when insurgents assaulted the Technical Secondary School in Lassa Community, Askira/Uba Local Government Area, while pupils were taking their NECO exams.

The terrorists reportedly kidnapped numerous exam applicants and teachers before fleeing into the nearby jungle.

According to intelligence sources, forces from Operation Hadin Kai undertook a rescue operation, resulting in the safe return of ten of the abducted victims.

According to sources, attempts are being made to find and rescue any remaining victims, while security activities continue in the area.
