Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has called out President Bola Tinubu over Nigeria’s worsening security situation, accusing political leaders of being out of touch with the daily struggles of citizens.
In a viral video making the rounds online, Dokubo said government officials enjoy heavily secured lifestyles while ordinary Nigerians are left vulnerable to kidnappings, violent attacks, and other security threats across the country.
“You live a great life. You’re driving armored vehicles escorted on both sides by armed security men. Your children are not anywhere around us. And even the ones who are, they’re just as protected. But not us ordinary Nigerians,” she said.
She stressed that victims of violence and their families deserve empathy and urgent action rather than comparisons or figurative explanations from those in power.
Referencing recent school abductions in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, the actress said affected families need protection and practical solutions instead of rhetoric.
Dokubo further expressed concern over the plight of kidnapped children and their loved ones, insisting the situation demands immediate intervention from the presidency.
“How can you be giving parables when children are in tears? May no parent go through this fear of knowing that they may be the ones to bury their children.”
“The farmers who lose their farmlands daily do not need your distance. They need empathy and they need action. They need you to be able to protect the land,” she added.
She concluded by urging the federal government to strengthen its response to insecurity, warning that the crisis continues to take a toll on communities nationwide.
