The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has condoled with the National Secretary of the party, Senator Ajibola Basiru, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Sidikat Abeke Basiru.
Basiru had announced her death in an emotional tribute shared on his Facebook page on Sunday morning.
He wrote: “Alhamdulilah for a life well spent in devotion to Allah and service to humanity! I will always remember your love and the sacrifice to enable us be who Allah destined us to be. I love you, Maami, but I accept that we belong to Allah and to Him we shall all return someday! May ALLAH forgive you and grant you Aljanna Firdaus.”
The former Senate spokesperson described his late mother as a loving and sacrificial woman whose unwavering support and prayers helped shape the lives of her children.
In its condolence message, Osun APC described her demise as a painful loss not only to the family but also to all who knew and benefited from her exemplary life.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Information of the Osun State APC, Kola Olabisi, on Sunday, on behalf of the state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, the party said the passing of the late Alhaja Basiru was in accordance with the will of Almighty Allah, who gives life and takes it at His appointed time.
Lawal urged the bereaved family to submit to the will of Allah with faith and total acceptance.
The state APC chairman noted that although death is inevitable, the departure of a caring mother and a respected matriarch always leaves an irreplaceable vacuum.
He described the late Alhaja Basiru as a virtuous woman whose life was marked by humility, kindness, discipline, and unwavering devotion to the service of Allah and humanity.

According to the statement, the Osun APC identifies with Senator Basiru at this difficult moment, acknowledging the immense grief associated with losing a beloved mother.
The party prayed that Almighty Allah grant him, his siblings, and the entire family the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear the painful and irreparable loss.
The party further stated that the greatest tribute to the late matriarch is the outstanding legacy of good character, moral upbringing, and service to humanity that she instilled in her children, particularly Senator Basiru, whose dedication to public service continues to inspire many within and outside the APC.
While extending its deepest sympathies to the entire Basiru family, relatives, friends, and associates, the Osun APC prayed that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, accepts her return, enlarges her grave, illuminates it with His light, and admits her into the highest rank of Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
