The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is conducting critical maintenance at the Delta 132/33kV Substation, resulting in temporary electricity disruptions across several Delta State neighborhoods.
TCN announced via its X handle that daily maintenance, running from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will continue until June 16, 2026. This exercise began on June 4 and aims to improve system infrastructure.
The company reported that the project aims to integrate a bus coupler circuit breaker and rehabilitate five isolators on the main busbar. This work enhances substation flexibility and ensures seamless, uninterrupted power transfer and system reliability during maintenance.
The statement said, “The maintenance is to facilitate the connection of a bus coupler circuit breaker and the rehabilitation of five isolators on the main busbar.”
TCN noted that several 33kV feeders supplied from the Effurun and Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substations will remain out of service during the maintenance period.
The affected feeders include ‘’Effurun, Warri, Sapele, Osubi, PTI, PMSL, Refinery I, Refinery II, Enerhen, Isoko/Kwale, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Agbarho/Eku, Aladja, Imoniyame and Beta Glass.”
However, the company assured residents and businesses that power supply would be restored at the end of each day’s maintenance activities.
TCN stated, “Power supply will be restored daily at 5:00 p.m., enabling Benin DisCo to offtake electricity for its customers, following the completion of each day’s maintenance activities.”
The company also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the exercise.
The statement added, “TCN apologises for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing maintenance exercise.”
