“They Have Entered Lagos’ Peter Okoye Raises Alarm Over Caught Suspected Bandit In Lekki

Popular Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, famously known as Mr P of the P-Square duo, has raised serious alarms over the spread of insecurity after encountering a crowd gathered around an individual alleged to be a suspected bandit in Lekki, Lagos.
The musician, who shared his experience on his social media handle, expressed deep concern that criminal elements usually associated with insecurity in other regions of the country may have infiltrated the commercial capital.
Okoye stated that he ran into the chaotic scene while returning from a late-night music video shoot in the Lekki axis, where eyewitnesses and bystanders informed him that a suspected bandit had just been apprehended.
Expressing his shock in a mixture of English and Pidgin, the singer wrote: “Omo! Just coming back from a video shoot around Lekki and saw a crowd gathered. Na, there I hear say dem catch suspected bandit. Omo, dem don enter Lagos o!”
The singer’s online post quickly generated a massive response from Nigerians, many of whom expressed heightened fears about the safety of the state and called on security agencies to investigate the matter immediately.
However, at the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has not issued an official statement confirming the true identity of the apprehended individuals or verifying the specific allegations levelled against them by the crowd.
