Controversial social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has urged Nigerians to vote out President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election to fix the country’s woes.
He made the call in a video posted on his official Instagram page.
VDM argued that contrary to the beliefs that votes do not count, vote-buying during elections shows that every vote matters.
He urged Nigerians, particularly those active on social media, to acquire Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them to participate in elections and influence the country’s direction.
“Nigeria will be better by 70% if we can kick Tinubu out of power. It only means that if there is any elected person who is not doing what the people want, he can still be kicked out.
“It’s not by protest. I need to remind you that 80% of Nigerians on social media don’t even have voter’s cards, all they do is talk online.
“People living from hand to mouth have been surviving by farming, and they can no longer farm. As I go back to your history, the rich people from Nigeria, most of them were into farming. The rice, the groundnut pyramids. We are not even clear about those things again, because people can no longer farm.”
He further accused President Tinubu of consistently trying to secure the loyalty of government institutions, media organisations, and celebrities, while paying less attention to rising insecurity that has left many Nigerians vulnerable to bandits and armed groups across the country.
