Nigerian content creator and skit-maker Kemi Ikuseedun, popularly known as Mummy Wa, has opened up about why she remains single as she approaches her 30th birthday.
The popular comedian disclosed that her love life has been significantly influenced by fictional characters from movies and television shows, making it difficult for her to develop romantic feelings for real-life partners.

Speaking in a video broadcast, Mummy Wa admitted that she often finds herself emotionally attached to characters she watches on screen, a habit she believes has contributed to her prolonged single status.
According to her, many women can relate to the experience of developing feelings for fictional characters who appear perfect, charming, and emotionally available in movies and series.
“The reason why I am still single is because I went to go and fall in love with a fictional character,” she said.
The skitmaker explained that the challenge with such attachments is that the characters do not exist in real life, making it impossible to build actual relationships with them.
She further noted that while many people dream about finding partners who possess the qualities of their favourite movie characters, reality often turns out differently.
Mummy Wa specifically mentioned South Korean actor Lee Min-ho, revealing that she has long admired him because of the roles he portrayed on screen.
The comedian joked that she has spent years waiting for a man like the character played by Lee Min-ho in the popular Korean drama series Boys Over Flowers.
“I am almost 30, and I am still waiting for Lee Min Ho,” she said humorously.
She, however, acknowledged that the actor’s real-life personality might be completely different from the fictional character that captured her attention.
“What if I meet Lee Min Ho in real life and he is not the same as the person in ‘Boys Over Flowers’?” she asked.
Reflecting on her experiences, Mummy Wa suggested that unrealistic expectations created by movies and television dramas can sometimes affect real-life relationships.
According to her, fictional characters are often carefully written to embody qualities that many people desire in a partner, making them appear more attractive than real individuals who naturally possess flaws and imperfections.
She added that constantly comparing real-life partners to fictional characters can make it difficult for people to appreciate genuine relationships.
“Honestly, I am still single because it is only fictional characters I keep falling for,” she stated.
