2027: Adeleke, Accord Party leaders adopt Tinubu as presidential candidate

Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun state, alongside the national leadership of the Accord Party, has adopted President Bola Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for Adeleke’s re-election campaign, disclosed that the governor and top party leaders held a meeting on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, where they deliberated extensively on key issues affecting the party.
Olajengbesi said the party’s leadership stressed the need for the Tinubu administration to complete ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry highway.
He added that discussions also covered the forthcoming August governorship election, with party leaders cautioning against violence, intimidation, electoral malpractice, and the misuse of security agencies against Accord Party members in Osun state.
According to the spokesperson, those present at the meeting included Maxwell Mgbudem, national chairman; Maryam Sale, deputy national chairman; Ajaja Abiola Adebukola, national secretary; Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen, national treasurer; Ibe Thankgod, national organising secretary; and Omorogbe Joseph, national publicity secretary, among others.
State chairmen of the party from across the country were also in attendance.
