ADC Governorship Candidate, Olooye Adegoke, Commiserates With Victims Of Bode Market Fire

The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA), has expressed deep sympathy to traders and business owners affected by the devastating fire incident that ravaged sections of the popular Bode Market in Ibadan in the early hours of Friday.
The inferno reportedly destroyed goods worth millions of naira, leaving many traders counting huge losses despite the prompt intervention of firefighters, who prevented the blaze from spreading further. The cause of the fire is yet to be officially determined.
In his condolence message, Olooye Adegoke described the incident as a painful setback for hundreds of hardworking traders whose livelihoods depend on the market.
“I received the news of the fire outbreak at Bode Market with great sadness. My heart goes out to every trader and family affected by this unfortunate incident. I sincerely pray that God grants them the strength to overcome this difficult period and restores all that has been lost.”
Adegoke noted that Bode Market occupies a special place in the commercial history of Ibadan, adding that he is personally familiar with the market and understands its importance to thousands of families and the economy of Oyo State.
“Bode Market is more than a marketplace; it is a source of livelihood for countless people. Having been familiar with the market over the years, I understand the enormous impact this tragedy will have on the affected traders and their families.”
The ADC governorship candidate called on government, relevant emergency agencies, corporate organizations, and well-meaning individuals to provide immediate relief and support to the victims to enable them to recover and resume their businesses as quickly as possible.
He also urged traders to continue observing fire safety measures while expressing hope that investigations into the cause of the inferno would help prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Olooye Adegoke prayed for divine comfort, resilience, and speedy restoration for all those who suffered losses in the unfortunate incident.
