Annual Projects Review: Sokoto State Govt Applauds AGILE’s Impact, Rekindles Hope For Education.

SOKOTO – The Governor of Sokoto State Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, says the state AGILE implementation team has performed excellently in the delivery of AGILE activities across the state.
Speaking through the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Ahmed Ladan Ala, stated this while declaring open a three-day annual review workshop in Sokoto.
In his words; “I want to commend the AGILE team, especially the Team Lead, Dr. Mansur, for his sterling leadership in the implementation of the AGILE project. Coupled with a competent team, AGILE has performed excellently in its activities.”
Explaining further he said; ” This is because I have gone on monitoring and supervision visits to rural areas, and their projects are wonderful and commendable.”
Stakeholders in Sokoto have convened to review the implementation of AGILE project activities for the past two years, aimed at enhancing access to quality education for adolescent girls in the state.
Experts at the annual stakeholders review workshop are expected to assess and collectively plan for improved implementation of AGILE project activities to enhance education for girls aged between 10 and 20.
In his special remarks, the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Ahmed Ladan Ala, appreciated the education transformation initiatives of the state governor.
Prof. Ahmed Ladan Ala, was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Sunusi Aliyu Binji, who further highlighted the contributions and achievements of the state government in the education sector.
“We must thank the Governor because he is giving full support to education development so that our daughters can get quality education and compete with any child anywhere in the world.”
The Governor also provides free buses to convey children to school and also pays for the fuel. He equally pays a monthly running cost allowance to every principal to run school activities, in addition to the provision of teaching and learning materials to strengthen education in Sokoto State,” he said.
