The death toll from a devastating fire at a Bangkok bar and restaurant has risen to 30, as grieving families gathered on Tuesday to identify victims and search for missing loved ones.
The blaze broke out late on Sunday at the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao venue in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district during a live music performance, trapping patrons as flames spread rapidly through the building.
Authorities said 75 people were injured, including 24 who remain in critical condition.

Relatives gathered at Police General Hospital on Tuesday to claim the bodies of victims, with some still waiting for confirmation about loved ones who have not been found.
Booyaporn Sermsiri, 51, was at the hospital searching for her 25-year-old daughter, Jawaee “Cartoon” Sermsiri, who remains missing.
“Since we haven’t found her yet, we can only wait. We are holding onto hope,” she said, adding that she had provided a DNA sample to help with identification.
Three victims have not yet been publicly identified, officials said.
