The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) said on Monday that continued Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia require a firm international response, describing the group’s latest attack on southern Saudi Arabia as a “cowardly attack”.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al Budaiwi strongly condemned what he described as a “terrorist ballistic missile attack” carried out by the Houthi militia against the southern region of Saudi Arabia, according to a statement issued on Monday evening.
Al Budaiwi said the “cowardly attack” was a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, reflecting the militia’s determination to undermine security and stability and threaten the safety of civilians and vital installations.
He stressed that the Houthis’ continued “terrorist attacks”, their violations of international law and the ceasefire, require a firm and deterrent international stance to end their hostile actions and ensure those responsible are held accountable, contributing to the protection of regional and international peace and security.
