Chadwick Boseman Family Sues Late Actor’s Widow Over $3.8m Estate

The family of late Hollywood star Chadwick Boseman has taken legal action against his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, over the control and distribution of his estate.
Boseman’s brothers, Derrick and Kevin Boseman, filed a petition in a Los Angeles court on behalf of their parents, seeking Ledward’s removal as the administrator of the estate.
In court filings, the family accused Ledward of mismanaging assets, withholding financial records, and exercising sole control over commercial decisions involving the actor’s image and intellectual rights.
The Black Panther star passed away from colon cancer in August 2020 at age 43 without leaving a will, leaving an estate valued at $3.8 million. Ledward, who began dating Boseman in 2015, married him six days before his death.
A prior court ruling awarded Ledward 50 percent of the estate, with 25 percent allocated to each of Boseman’s parents. The family claims Ledward has delayed distributing the funds, causing ongoing hardship and emotional distress to his parents.
