Former Chelsea star, Glen Johnson, has urged his old club to sign France midfielder Manu Kone as Enzo Fernandez’s replacement if the Argentina international decides to leave Stamford Bridge for another club.
Fernandez has been linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer transfer window.
Kone, on the other hand, has attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, Johnson believes the Kone is strong and will be a perfect replacement for Fernandez in Xabi Alonso’s squad.
“He [Kone] has been excellent for France,” Johnson told Metro UK. “A top midfielder, strong, physical, can use the ball well, pick a pass well, he is a top player, and to get into the French midfield, you must be a good player.
“If Enzo leaves, he can be the perfect replacement for sure. His attributes seem to be suited to the Premier League, so I don’t think he will have any issues getting used to the game at all.”
