The Federal Government has launched three digital platforms aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, performance monitoring and knowledge management across the Federal Public Service.
The Reform Tracker, Knowledge Repository and the National Strategy for Public Service Reforms (NSPSR) Dashboard were unveiled in Abuja by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) as part of efforts to deepen governance reforms and improve service delivery.
Speaking at the launch, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume who was represented by the Senior Technical Adviser, Prof. Babatunde Bolaji Bernard, described the platforms as an integrated digital ecosystem that would transform the way government reforms are monitored, documented and communicated across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
He also added that the Reform Tracker would provide a credible mechanism for monitoring reform milestones, implementation timelines and key performance indicators across MDAs and enhance accountability and ensure that reform initiatives are implemented according to plan. He explained that the Knowledge Repository would serve as the Federal Government’s central digital library for reform-related policies, strategies, reports, guidelines, case studies and other knowledge resources.
The SGF noted that the repository would help preserve institutional memory, reduce duplication of efforts, promote evidence-based policymaking and encourage continuous learning within the public service. He highlighted the importance of the NSPSR Dashboard, saying it would provide real-time information on the implementation of the National Strategy for Public Service Reforms.
According to the SGF, the deployment of the three applications reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to building a transparent, technology-driven and results-oriented public service capable of delivering quality services to Nigerians. Providing an overview of the digital tools, Director-General of the BPSR, Dr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, described the launch as a major milestone in efforts to institutionalise reforms through innovation, technology and evidence-based governance.
Arabi said the platforms were developed to provide practical digital instruments for monitoring, measuring and sustaining reform initiatives across the Federal Public Service. He observed that while Nigeria had implemented several reform programmes over the years, the absence of a unified mechanism for tracking implementation, measuring impact and preserving institutional knowledge had often undermined their effectiveness.
According to him, the newly introduced platforms address these challenges by creating an integrated ecosystem for managing reforms across government institutions. Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Dr. John Chidiebere Ezeamama, commended the BPSR for developing the platforms, describing them as critical tools for advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the platforms would strengthen institutional capacity, promote accountability and improve the implementation and monitoring of government policies and programmes.The event featured a practical demonstration of the operational capabilities of the three digital platforms.
