FG’s Rescue Operation Boosts Investor Confidence, Says Sigvent Industrial Cluster

The management of Sigvent Industrial Cluster has commended the Federal Government and security agencies for the successful rescue of citizens abducted in the Ogbomoso axis of Oyo State, describing the operation as a major boost to investor confidence and economic activities in the area.

The organisation said the swift intervention by security agencies demonstrated the government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, adding that the development would reassure investors, farmers and development partners involved in the cluster’s agro-industrial projects.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sigvent Industrial Cluster, Benjamin Onigbinde, praised President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Oyo State Government for what he described as a coordinated and decisive rescue operation.

“We thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS and Oyo State Government for the decisive operation that brought our people home safely,” Onigbinde said.

According to him, the speed and coordination of the rescue have reinforced confidence in the security architecture of Ogbomoso, making the area more attractive for investment.

“The speed and coordination of this rescue sends a strong signal that Ogbomoso is secure and government will protect lives and livelihoods. For investors, this is confidence. For farmers and our foundation partners deploying resources to Sigvent Cluster, this is assurance that their people and assets are safe,” he added.

Onigbinde noted that the Sigvent Industrial Cluster is developing agro-processing facilities in Ogbomoso covering cashew, cassava, soya and mango processing, alongside logistics hubs and a research and innovation centre.

He said the project aligns with the Federal Government’s agriculture industrialisation, food security and global trade agenda, as well as the Industrial Plan 2026.

The Sigvent CEO also recalled that the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, had described the project as having the potential to become one of the largest industrial clusters in Africa.

He maintained that security remains a critical factor in attracting investment and improving the ease of doing business.

“Main drivers of ease of doing business are security, policy consistency and infrastructure. The Federal Government has delivered on two of the three, while Sigvent Industrial Cluster and our partners are delivering on the third,” Onigbinde stated.

He expressed optimism that sustained improvements in security and infrastructure would accelerate investments in agro-industrial development, create jobs and strengthen Nigeria’s food security efforts.
