Gombe 2027: Ex-Air Vice Marshal Sani Dumps APC For PDP

The camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has received a fresh political boost following the defection of retired Air Vice Marshal B.A. Sani from the All Progressive Congress to the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

B.A. Sani, from Balanga Local Government Area, formally joined the PDP and pledged his support for Pantami’s governorship ambition, describing the former Minister as a leader with the competence and experience to transform Gombe State.

Explaining his decision to join the PDP, the retired senior military officer said Pantami’s leadership qualities, integrity, administrative experience and record of public service convinced him that the former minister possesses the capacity to provide purposeful leadership, promote unity, drive sustainable development and improve the welfare of the people of Gombe State.

He also declared his support for all PDP candidates contesting the 2027 general elections.

Sani was formally received into the party by the Gombe State PDP Chairman, Major General A.K. Kwaskebe (Rtd), alongside Professor Pantami and other senior party leaders.

The PDP, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, described the defection as another indication of the party’s growing acceptance across the state.

According to the party, the decision by the retired Air Vice Marshal to join its ranks reflects the increasing confidence that respected leaders and stakeholders have in the PDP’s vision for inclusive governance, development and prosperity in Gombe State.

The party expressed optimism that Sani’s entry would further strengthen its preparations for the 2027 elections as it works towards securing victory for Pantami and other PDP candidates.
