Nollywood actor-turned-preacher Woli Arole has urged the public to be more cautious about judging people based on narratives shared on social media, following the recent controversy surrounding Lola Omotayo Okoye, wife of singer Peter Okoye.
The development comes after Peter, in the final installment of his tell-all series, made fresh allegations about the treatment his wife allegedly received from his late mother and some of his siblings.
According to Peter, his late mother had pressured Lola to end her relationship with him while she was pregnant. He also alleged that his brothers went as far as asking her to terminate the pregnancy and allegedly created a fake email in an attempt to portray her negatively.
Peter’s revelations have since triggered reactions from members of the public, with some people who previously blamed Lola for the prolonged conflict surrounding the Psquare brothers now apologising to her.
Reacting to the development on social media, Woli Arole pointed out the change in attitude, noting that some of those who once criticised and judged Lola are now returning to apologise to her.
The preacher used the situation to caution people against making quick judgments, particularly when they only have access to one side of a story online.
Arole stressed that social media users often accept and spread narratives without knowing the full circumstances behind them. According to him, such assumptions can have serious consequences, including damaging people’s reputations and negatively affecting their lives.
He therefore encouraged the public to exercise caution when consuming and reacting to information on social media, stressing the importance of avoiding hasty conclusions about other people’s lives.

A lot of wrong narratives that people follow, and this has damaged reputations and lives!!
