Tears as actress Tope Osoba is laid to rest in Ogun weeks after her death

Nollywood actress, Tope Osoba has been laid to rest in her hometown of Iperu Remo, Ogun State, weeks after news of her death was announced.
Family members, friends and colleagues gathered on Thursday to bid the Yoruba movie actress farewell, with mourners dressed in white as they paid their final respects.
Her burial service was held at Akesan Club in Iperu Remo after her remains were moved from the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu. She was subsequently interred at the Iperu Remo Cemetery.

Several familiar faces from the Yoruba film industry attended the funeral, including Foluke Daramola, Kunle Afod and Joke Jigan.
Osoba’s death was announced on August 5, months after she underwent surgery for breast cancer.
Her family had initially scheduled her burial for August 13, following plans for a candlelight procession and an artistes’ tribute night on August 11.
The burial was, however, postponed to allow the family to complete further arrangements and resolve outstanding matters.

Osoba built her career through appearances in Yoruba-language Nollywood productions and became known among audiences and colleagues in the industry.
Following news of her passing, colleagues paid tribute to the actress, remembering her for her dedication and passion for her craft.
Thursday’s funeral eventually brought family, friends and members of the entertainment industry together in Iperu Remo to honour her memory and accompany her on her final journey.
Her burial comes more than a month after her death was announced, closing a period during which colleagues and loved ones mourned the actress and celebrated her contributions to the Yoruba film industry.
