Gombe APC Gov’ship Candidate Promises Issue-Based Campaign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State, Jamil Gwamna, has pledged to run a peaceful, issue-based, and violence-free campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Gwamna made this known during a solidarity visit by various youth groups in Gombe, where he emphasised that elections should not be treated as a contest of hostility, but rather as a democratic process for selecting credible leaders capable of delivering on the people’s expectations.

He assured that his campaign would strictly adhere to the provisions of the Electoral Act, noting that it would be conducted within the bounds of order, civility, and electoral integrity. “My campaign will be guided by decency and respect for democratic principles,” he stated.

The APC candidate further pledged to build on the achievements recorded under the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, while introducing policies to promote sustainable development through significant investment in human capital.

Speaking on the party’s prospects, Gwamna described the accomplishments of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Inuwa Yahaya as unprecedented, adding that they remain the party’s most compelling campaign assets.

He also urged youths in the state to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the elections, stressing the importance of active civic participation. He cautioned against any form of violence, reiterating that there is no place for violence in a democratic society.

Gwamna called on candidates of other political parties to fully comply with the Electoral Act, emphasising that the collective interest of Gombe State must take precedence over personal or partisan considerations.
