A Socio -Cultural Group, the Concerned Edo Citizens Forum, CECF, has endorsed the senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Senator Joseph Ikpea, for a second term in the Senate.
The group, in a statement signed by Comrade Roy Oribhabor, Convener, and Felix Osagie, Director, Publicity and Mobilization, said Senator Joseph Ikpea has proved his representation in the Senate as a capable representative for the people of Edo Central Senatorial District.
According to them, a 25-man committee has been inaugurated for the realization of Senator Joseph Ikpea ‘s re-election as the senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District in the upper chamber.
“We have watched with great concern and determination the representation of Senator Joseph Ikpea so far within a very short period as the Senator representing the good people of Edo Central Senatorial District (Esan).
Rising from the decision reached at Igueben by the executive committee of Concerned Edo Citizens Forum, we are bold to say clearly that his representation has been people-oriented and mass-driven in the history of Esan land.
“Senator Joseph Ikpea is calm, gentle, and a lover of his people who has distinguished himself greatly as a leader with a vision to redirect and change the narrative.
“As critical stakeholders in the Edo State project to protect the interest of Edo State for betterment, which is our core values and mission statement. We hereby call on the people of Esan Land to support him in the 2027 general election.
“Therefore, we wish to state clearly that Sen. Joseph Ikpea deserves to remain as a distinguished Senator, and he is hereby endorsed accordingly,” they stated.
“To fast-track his victory and the subsequent mobilization, a 25-man committee has been inaugurated for the realization. Never again will the people without records of leadership and credibility represent us in Edo State. We promise to enthrone him through the instrumentality of democratic disposition.’’
“We call on all candidates and voters to be law-abiding during the campaign period and eschew characters that will undermine the democratic process for personal reasons.
“Senator Joseph Ikpea is our candidate and the best candidate from those who have indicated interest.
Finally, Senator Joseph Ikpea is a square peg in a square hole. Join us to return him to the Senate,” the group declared.
