“He Should’ve Paid My Offering First” — Lady Says Church Admirer Didn’t Earn Her Number

A young Nigerian woman has sparked heated reactions on social media after saying a man who approached her in church missed an opportunity to make a good first impression.

In a video shared online, she recounted attending a church service where she sat beside a man she later realized was interested in her.

According to her, when it was time for the congregation to give their offerings, the man did not offer her any money to contribute to the offering basket.

She said she was surprised when the same man approached her after the service to ask for her phone number.

In her view, he should have first offered to pay for her offering before attempting to strike up a conversation or ask for her contact.

Her comments have since divided social media users. While a few agreed that thoughtful gestures can leave a positive impression, many criticized her expectations, arguing that giving an offering is a personal act of worship and should not be linked to romantic interest or “female privileges.”

The video has continued to generate debate, with users sharing differing opinions on dating etiquette, generosity, and expectations in religious settings.
