“He’s in Nigeria… I Send Him Money Every Month” — US Podcast Erupts in Laughter as 56-year- old Woman Opens Up About Younger Husband

A relationship discussion on a popular U.S. podcast took an unexpected turn after a 54-year-old woman shared details about her long-distance marriage to a 36-year-old Nigerian man.

The podcast, which invites audience members to seek relationship advice from its panel, was thrown into a moment of mild drama when the woman stepped up to the microphone with a heartfelt question.

“At what point does fighting for a relationship become settling for less than what you deserve?” she asked.

One of the hosts sought clarification, asking whether she was referring to a husband or a boyfriend.

“Husband. I am married. I’m in a long-distance relationship,” she replied.

When another host asked how far apart they lived, the woman explained that her husband resides in Nigeria while she lives in the United States. She also revealed that she is 54 years old and her husband is 36.

The mention of Nigeria immediately drew laughter from the hosts and much of the audience.

One of the presenters then asked if she had been sending him money.

“I send money every month,” the woman replied.

Her response prompted one of the hosts to exclaim, “You’ve been scammed!” as the studio audience burst into laughter.

Despite admitting that she does not feel she receives the love and attention she deserves, the woman explained why she has remained committed to the marriage.

Quoting a Bible verse about doing good to one’s husband throughout one’s life, she insisted she still believed in supporting him.

“I know if I leave, he is going to become nothing,” she said.

The clip has since gone viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions. While many Nigerians found the exchange humorous, others expressed concern that romance scams involving a small number of individuals continue to reinforce negative stereotypes about Nigerians abroad.
