Nigerian businessman and crypto entrepreneur BLord has stirred reactions online after sharing his views on marriage and the type of men he believes are fit to start a family.
Speaking during an interview at his residence, the entrepreneur discussed what he would consider acceptable if someone wanted to marry his sister. According to him, he would strongly oppose any man who is not financially stable, stressing that marriage comes with serious responsibilities that require proper preparation.
Using a Point of Sale (POS) business as an example, BLord explained his position clearly.
He said:
“You can’t be doing POS and say you want to come and marry my sister. I wouldn’t even allow. I can’t. I won’t allow that.
I wouldn’t even allow my sister to marry somebody that was in my shoe before I got married.”
He added that men should strive for financial stability before considering marriage, noting that family life comes with long-term obligations that should not be taken lightly.
BLord also acknowledged that marriage decisions are deeply personal and outcomes can vary from one relationship to another. He pointed out that while his own wife accepted him and their decision worked out positively, other similar situations may not end the same way.
He said:
“It also depends on who she accepts. It’s your choice. My wife accepted. It was her choice. And today the choice was not wrong.
But some people might make a similar choice and the choice would be wrong.
You might marry a broke man, and when he gets rich, he will abandon you.
There is no curriculum to marriage. Everything just happens.”
The businessman further advised men to focus on improving their financial standing before getting married.
“Try to be up and doing before you get married because you have school fees to pay,” he said.
BLord also revealed that he currently sponsors several individuals through educational scholarships, including people whose parents are still alive.
“I have so many people on my scholarship. It’s not supposed to be so.
I’m paying school fees for another man. Paying their school fees and their father is alive and I’m paying school fees for them,” he added.
Offering advice to women, he urged them to carefully evaluate their choice of partner before marriage.
He said: “If you as a lady look at a man and say, ‘God, I don’t want my unborn children to be like this man,’ then I don’t think you should marry that man.
The man you want to marry, if you cannot wish your children to be like him, don’t marry him.”
