‘I Won’t Stop Supporting Adeleke’, Ataoja of Osogbo Replies Critics

The Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, has said criticism from some quarters will not stop him from supporting Governor Ademola Adeleke, citing the governor’s “excellent performance” in office.

The monarch made this known on Tuesday in Osogbo during the flag-off of the enrolment of traditional rulers and their queens into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme, and the commissioning of the newly completed Osun Health Insurance Agency, OSHIA, Multipurpose Hall.

NAIJAONPOINT reports that some Osogbo indigenes had faulted the Ataoja’s recent public endorsement of Governor Adeleke, urging him to remain neutral and play a fatherly role to all political parties.

But the monarch dismissed the criticism, saying his position was based on the governor’s delivery of dividends of democracy.

“I am hearing all they are saying, but I will not stop eulogising Governor Ademola Adeleke for his excellent performance in Osun,” Oba Oyetunji said.

He described the newly commissioned OSHIA hall and the inclusion of royal fathers and their queens in the health insurance scheme as evidence of good governance.

“This is another edifice to cater for our health, and he has included all traditional rulers in the life insurance scheme,” the monarch added.

Oba Oyetunji further declared support for Adeleke ahead of the August 16 governorship election.

“This is an eyesore. You will be re-elected, and you will spend your complete eight years,” he said.
