The Proctor General, Igbobi College Old Boys Association (ICOBA) Europe, Omooba Oladele Osinuga has described the recently concluded Annual General Meeting and Reunion of the Association as a rekindling of fraternity, heritage, brotherhood and purpose.
Oladele said the Alumni came together in unity, deliberating, celebrating, exploring, and giving thanks coupled with the traditional rallying calls.
“ICOBA Europe AGM & Reunion 2026 in Podgorica, Montenegro was more than a gathering; it was a rekindling of fraternity, heritage, brotherhood, purpose, and the enduring spirit of Igbobi College.
“So it was quite a delight to spend over four memorable days in ancient state of Montenegro, Old Igbobians (OIs) from across Europe and others from Nigeria and the United States came together in unity, deliberating, celebrating, exploring, and giving thanks coupled with the traditional rallying calls of Sekewa, Sekewa…and zzzzz!” He said.
In his explanation, The Proctor said the reunion extended beyond meetings into Montenegro’s cultural and historical landscape.
He noted that members travelled by boat to Tivat, Kotor, Perast, where as befits our college’s church foundation we visited the iconic St Nikola Church, rebuilt in 1616 and renowned for its magnificent bell tower, adding that the visit offered a moment of reflection amid centuries old stone and Adriatic beauty.
According to him, From Perast, the group continued to Tivat, enjoying its serene marina and coastal charm, captured in vibrant photographs of the Kotor bay idyillic scenes of outstanding natural beauty.
He added that the journey culminated in Kotor Old Town, where members walked through medieval streets in attired in their uniform asọ-ebí blue Àdìrẹ patterned polo shirts for OIs and for WICOBAs their uniform was mustard Àdìrẹ patterned polo shirts both outfits reflecting a mosaic of the Colleges colours of blue and mustard and Montenegrin heritage.
