Insecurity: UBTH CMD Lights Up Staff Quarters With Solar Powered Street Lights To Enhance Security

The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu has successfully installed over 100 solar-powered seetlights to illuminate the hospital staff quarters and surrounding areas for security enhancement.

The CMD noted that prior to the intervention, the lack of proper lighting left staff feeling unsafe due to the pervasive darkness.

The CMD highlighted that the new lighting system would effectively tackle the security challenges previously faced by staff residents.

Also speaking, Dr. Taiwo Oyewumi, Chairman of the Occupants of UBTH Quarters Association, expressed his profound gratitude to the Chief Medical Director for the unprecedented installation of Solar Powered Street lights, marking a significant milestone in the hospital’s history.

An elated, Mr. Pedro Abure, Manager of the Corporate Services and Partnership Unit at UBTH, praised Prof. Ize-Iyamu for her impactful intervention, noting that the staff quarters community is witnessing remarkable improvements due to her visionary leadership.
