A man has sparked reactions online after reportedly claiming he had no knowledge that the woman he was allegedly involved with was married.

According to reports, the man was intercepted at night by the woman’s husband and some residents while he was allegedly on his way to meet her.

During the confrontation, he was questioned about his relationship with the woman and reportedly insisted that she had never informed him that she had a husband.

“I never knew she had a husband; that’s why I was having an affair with her,” the man was quoted as saying while explaining his side of the story.

The situation reportedly escalated as some of the residents surrounded him with canes and allegedly began beating him during the confrontation.

Amid the tension, the man continued pleading and maintained that he was unaware of the woman’s marital status.

A video of the incident has since attracted attention on social media, with users sharing different opinions about the matter.

While some criticised the alleged affair, others condemned the decision by the group to resort to physical punishment instead of reporting the matter to the appropriate authorities.
