Izu Anioma Towns Union Inaugurates Youth, Women Forum to Drive Community Empowerment, Cultural Continuity

All is now set for the inauguration of the Izu Anioma Towns Union Women and Youth Forum in Abuja on Saturday, 25, July, 2026.
The event, which will be a landmark move to foster inclusive leadership and ensure cultural preservation across generations, will be held at the senior police officers’ mess, located close to Treasury House, Garki, Abuja.

The coming event marks a pivotal shift in the Union’s strategic direction, shifting toward a more modern, participatory framework that directly empowers two of its most dynamic demographics,
by empowering the Pillars of Community Development.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja about the proposed event, the FCT President of the Izu Anioma Towns Union, Barrister Luke Enelichi, emphasized that the creation of these specialized women’s and youth forums is not merely symbolic, but a deliberate effort to tackle contemporary social challenges while safeguarding cultural heritage.

“Women and youths are the heartbeat and the future of our society,” he said. “By institutionalizing their leadership within our association, we are ensuring that our culture remains vibrant, resilient, and responsive to the needs of today’s world. We are giving them a dedicated platform to lead, innovate, and advocate.”

Izu Anioma Towns Union is a non-profit sociocultural association dedicated to promoting peace, cultural heritage, social justice, and sustainable development among the Anioma ethnic nationality of Delta State. Through community outreach, advocacy, and social welfare programs, the association remains committed to building a united and prosperous society.
